What does PrideFC have in common with "Dancing With the Stars"? [May. 23rd, 2007|08:40 am]

Last night, I finally got around to watching Monday's "Dancing With the Stars". As the judges were giving their scores for the first couple, I realized that Frank "Twinkle Toes" Trigg was sitting in the background behind one of the judges! Anybody else catch that? Or am I the only one willing to admit that he watches "Dancing With the Stars"? ;-)

Randy Couture supports our troops! [May. 18th, 2007|12:36 pm]

Stolen from http://ufcmania.com/2007/05/14/ufcs-randy-coutre-to-help-troops-through-the-xtreme-couture-gi-foundation/ and crossposted to ufc_fans.

UFC Heavyweight Champion Randy Couture — a former air traffic controller for the U.S. Army 101st Airborne — recently established a nonprofit corporation with his wife, Kim, called, The Xtreme Couture GI Foundation.

According to the Web site, the foundation was formed to raise money and awareness for troops wounded in action and their families.

“The Natural” recently spoke with NBCSports.com about the initiative.

Here’s a snip:

“The biggest thing we want to let people know is that it’s not a political statement. It’s not about the war; it’s about the support of those men and women that are stepping up and supporting our country and government by putting their lives on the line. It doesn’t really matter what you believe about the war and whether it’s right or wrong. You have to commend those guys who are doing their job.”

The Xtreme Couture GI Foundation will use donations to implement several programs with the soldiers in mind, including, but not limited to:

Urgent Financial Needs. The Foundation will assist in payments to prevent families from becoming homeless, paying bills for those who could not handle the extra expense of staying near their convalescing soldier, and helping discharged soldiers start their lives back home.

Memorial Day Tribute Event
. Saluting the American GI’s and honoring our wounded soldiers and their families. This annual event will be a fundraiser for the Foundation.

Xtreme Weekend. Wounded soldiers get to spend a weekend of motivation and inspiration with Randy Couture.

Last year, Couture — along with former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin and Octagon vixen Rachelle Leah — traveled to Iraq to meet with troops and also offer up some mixed martial arts tips.

According to the article, he has also visited several military hospitals since the war began to meet with wounded soldiers.

Clearly, Couture is using his status as an MMA fighter and quasi-celebrity status to make a difference in the lives of those in need.

That’s not only selfless, but refreshing.

Read the above before continuing........

My rankings of all time greatest..........

1. Royce Gracie. (They didn't want to concider his tournie style wins apparently)
2. Fedor E. (He just scares me. Lazy eye and hairy gut. Oh and he'll kill ya)
3. Chuck Liddell (He fights like a cat, and with 3 losses he has 6 lives left)
4. Matt Lindland (Bouncing in the weight divisions he proves he is fearless)
5. Randy Couture (If I am 1/2 that in 8 years, god I am challenging Sylvia!)
6. Matt Hughes (lil'guy from a farm, slug hay and convert it to punching power)
7. Jeremy Horn (maybe not a champ, but many champs owe thier paycheck to him)
8. Mirko "Crocop" Filipovic (Yeah he just got his bell rung but he rang alot himself!)
9. Dan Henderson (Only because I can't explain how he wins)
10. Wandy Silva (400+ silvas in MMA and he is the best till Anderson proves otherwise)

Tito. He should record a loss for being a pussy. 1-0 Dana [Apr. 13th, 2007|12:31 am]

[Current Mood |pissed offpissed off]

Did any watch Tito vs Dana Bad Blood Tonight??

Ok first let us clear up, #1 they didn't and will not fight. (Ignore the bullshit on sherdog.com's forums. Man the ppl on there are all smoking crack)

Second. Tito wussed. Why? Because JJ (aka Jenna Jameson, the loosed dual entry chick in hollywood) has taken control of his career and taught him that getting f***'d is worth a buck. (her experiece). To her reasoning fighting has nothig to do with honor, passion for sport, or living up to a commitment. Hail the almighty dollar.

Third. I think Tito was unable to reasonable live up to a standup boxing match. He rules on the ground and pound.... but that hardly applies to the match he now faced. Dana trained hard, and for a lot longer than admitted to in the Dana vs Tito program I just wathced (highly entertaining btw!).

To sum it up...... Tito is finished. With the UFC run under Dana, he will never fight again there. With the Fertitta's owning Pride... good bye Tito. Your days of money hungry glory is done unless you are gonna kiss Calvin's ass into Bodog. As for your fight vs Rashad?.........

All record of it is gone from the ufc web site. I'd be shocked if we see you on spike or a UFC PPV unless its a rerun. Dana? Trained for a boxing match, but after seeing how he sweated and got the shit beat outa him by great fighters in sparring.... he is an MMA warrior Score 1-0-0 Dana.
